We had a persistent damp problem on a bedroom chimney breast that another roofer had failed to solve and failed to return to rectify his work. We found SG Roofing Specialists on this site and were impressed by the number of positive reviews they had received. We contacted Stephen and he came around to assess the work promptly. He removed tiles, took pictures of the area where the leak was occurring, showed us the problem and explained clearly the remedial work required. We were impressed by Stephenâs reassuring manner and he gave us a very reasonable quote and a date when he was available to carry out the work. Stephen contacted us a couple of days before the due date to confirm arrangements. He arrived promptly, carried out the work and again took photos to show his work and explained what he had done. What was even more impressive was that Stephen spotted other issues on the roof and carried out work (cementing ridge tiles and removing vegetation around chimney stacks) without being asked and without charge. Stephen is a very helpful, courteous and meticulous tradesman who believes in going the extra mile. It has been really reassuring to find such a trustworthy roofer who approaches his work with such a rigorous attitude and we can thoroughly recommend SG Roofing Specialists.

Once again Steve did a good job even though it was only clearing out the guttering , but turned up on time did excellent work at a reasonable price no complaints. Will use again.

This is the 3rd time we have used Stephen's services. The 1st time was in 2012 to replace our facia boards and soffits, the 2nd time was to remove a disused gas flue ridge tile.
We therefore had no hesitation in calling Stephen to repair a leak in our roof due to a cracked roof tile. Stephen replaced the roof tile and put new roofing felt under that area and also under the ridge tiles.
Stephen is very thorough and his work is of a very high standard at a good price. Stephen is an all round good guy! We would definitely recommend him.

Excellent work done in replacing roof ridge. Work done safely with scaffold tower being provided. Kept us informed of the date that work was planned for, taking into account weather conditions. Left the site tidy. Would certainly use this company again and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Stephen lifted ,cleaned and re-bedded some 1st floor ridge tiles for me and did an excellent job.
He was punctual and left the job clean and tidy and charged a reasonable price for the work. I would defiantly use him again for any further work.

Stephen has done several jobs for me on different houses all excellent this one was on a house in Liverpool and it was some major work. Stephen always explains everything and has a pleasant manner about him. With roofers you can't check the work very easily so you have to have trust, as I completely trust Stephen to do a good job and charge a fair price I will always wait until he is available. Thoroughly recommended.

We had used Stephen's services back in August 2012 to replace our facia boards and soffits.
We were so pleased with the work that we didn't hesitate to call him when our roof was leaking. Stephen replaced some rotten roof battens and removed a disused gas flue.
We have had no leaks since, even though we have had a lot of heavy rain. We would definitely recommend him.

I can't praise these guys enough. They are hard working, conscientious and their workmanship is second to none. They gave me a 10 year guarantee on a job that they only came out to fix after some cowboy outfit made a right mess of things. They only charged me for parts, even though it took them a couple of days to fix the job. Now that's what I call service. I paid them more than they asked of me, I was that pleased. I would 100% recommend SG roofing to anyone looking for professional, skilful, dedicated & reliable, honest & conscientious, hardworking tradesmen.
Two of the nicest, helpful lads you could hope to meet are Steve and Jamie, and top professionals at their trade.
I contracted SG roofing in July 2015 to retile my roof as a result of extensive and careful due diligence.
Of the daunting abundance of roofing contractors in the area, SG topped my list.
This has subsequently been vindicated by the 1st class job made to my home, and at a very competitive price.
I was always kept informed throughout, never let down once in any way. The lads were punctual, courteous and polite, dedicated to the job in hand and extremely hard working.
On 1st meeting and speaking to Steve I knew I had the right person and company. Steve spent a lot of time liaising with me, ensuring we both knew what was required. Never once was I made to feel uncomfortable by the time and attention he & Jamie gave to my project, and for this I am eternally grateful.
I also requested several additional works to that initially outlined and again, there was no fuss or problem. Steve and Jamie got right onto it and did a cracking job.
Help was also forthcoming with an unrelated problem I had which now, thanks to the generosity of Steve, is a problem no more.
For me SG is the roofing company I will always use in future should I need such services.

Very impressed with this trader. This was only a small job which some other traders might have refused, but Stephen was happy to call and do it in the evening on his way home. He was very pleasant, polite and friendly and he completed the job quickly and efficiently at an extremely fair price. I am very impressed and will definitely use him again. Highly recommended.

Stephen did an excellent job renewing the roof of my house. It was a full re-slate and installation of roof window. He worked extremely hard often til early evening to make sure the roof was watertight and to finish off anything that needed to be done. He is very courteous, friendly and polite, and all work was carried out in a professional manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing work carried out. I'm delighted with the standard and quality of the work he did at my property, the roof looks great now !

Stephen was a polite and professional friendly man. He provided me with a competitive quote, which I was more than happy with.

He kept me updated through out the project from conception to end. He was punctual and consulted with me, when the need arisen. The work was of professional quality, and finished within an excellent timescale.

This is the third time I have had Stephen do work for me and it was again an excellent job at a reasonable price with excellent communication and reliability. I recommended Stephen to neighbours who had a cowboy come 3 times (charging them 3 times) and still did not fix their leak and they have now had the roof repaired by Stephen.

We had a problem with the ridge tiles on our roof. Long story short, my house had a new roof put on it a few years before I bought it, however the ridge tiles didn't overlap the roof tiles correctly. Rather than strip the roof back and re-tile so that a ridge overlap could be achieved, the roofer at the time decided to correct the problem by cementing the gap along the ridge. Over time, this cement has cracked and fallen away to leave a few holes all along the ridge!
I've previously had another roofing company out to correct the problem, however unbeknownst to me, the work that was completed and was paid for, was poor and actually made the problem worse.
For that reason I used the Trader Register to get in touch with a roofer I could trust(if only I'd found the trader register earlier!!). I rang SG Roofing to arrange for someone to come out to assess the problem and give me a quote to put a solution in place.
Stephen then came out to our house one evening to take a look at the roof. I explained the problem in more detail to Stephen and asked him about a couple of other issues I wanted him to look at.
Stephen's a smashing fella, very likeable and right from the off you get confidence about his professionalism with his friendly and enthusiastic manner and the knowledgeable way he talks about the job. He spent over an hour up on the roof assessing the problem. He then found the root cause of the ridge tiles not overlapping correctly and he put together a couple of solutions which he ran through with me.
Basically, the first line of tiles at the gutter level were an inch or two lower than what they should have been. Plus some of the spacing between the roof batons was shorter than recommended.
Both of these issues combined to cause the ridge tile overlap problem.
Stephen's recommended solution was to strip back each row of tiles and fit a new, slightly higher baton that the roof tiles could be re-attached to. This in turn would ensure that the final row of tiles were high enough to ensure an overlapping ridge. This work, combined with replacing the roof leadwork between ours and next door's house, and installing two roof vents, formed the job that Stephen quoted us for.
It was a great quote considering the work and materials involved and we accepted and Stephen booked us in.
Stephen and his team started the work on time and spent long hours up on the roof working on the repair, even working after dark at times to ensure that the outside of the house and roof were left in a clean and tidy (and watertight!) state before they clocked off for the day. In the end, the job overran Stephen's original estimate by a number of days, however this didn't affect the quoted price. Stephen told us this was the case (should it happen) before he took on the job and he was a man of his word. In fact the final price actually came in cheaper than what Stephen had quoted!
Stephen took some pictures of his completed work up on our roof. The quality of work he has put in is second to none. He should be proud. We now have no worries about leaks or otherwise coming into the house, which is great for our stress levels! And now means I can finally decorate our son's bedroom without fear of damp patches on the ceiling re-appearing!
All in all, Stephen's a fantastic bloke, he's great at his job and I would have no hesitation in getting him and his team back for future work, and would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

Stephen and Chris have worked on my property a couple of times before so when I made the decision to have a complete roof done SG Roofing was the only choice for the job. Stephen arranged for the scaffolding and skip to be delivered beforehand and arrived promptly with Chris to commence the work. The boys worked extremely hard in soaring heat . The work as always was of a very high standard, Stephen and Chris are a pleasure to have around with their wit and humour. I would not hesitate to recommend SG roofing as they are fantastic and very hard workers, reliable, trustworthy friendly and very reasonably priced. I provided Stephen with a key to the house when I was working so he could make drinks. Steohen has extremely high standards and takes pride in his work which is a rare quality these days. We live at the top of a hill where the rain often comes horizontally. We had leaks both around and down the chimney and also down one of the apex valleys. Stephen came out to survey the jobs and I had expected that more work was required than he recommended, some roofers could have easily made more of the job and charged more. Stephen and Chris were enthusiastic, polite and professional. Stephen is like an old time tradesman who takes a pride in his work.
Stephen is confident that when the horizontal rainy season starts again we will have no more leaks.

We had a roof re-slated, with a breathable membrane installed and two Velux roof windows to the rear.
SG Roofing's quote was competitive and just as importantly, Stephen was clearly experienced and enthusiastic about his work and happy to explain the processes involved. His professional approach, clear enthusiasm and expertise really impressed us and we were happy to select SG to do the job.
Stephen and Chris worked very hard on the job and made fantastically quick progress, working through some very poor weather! Returning to the house each day was a transformation to see the work they'd acheived. They completed the work within the planned time and were an absolute credit to the trade. The finished roof is of outstanding quality and a real improvement to the look of the house. The dry verge alone is a 100% improvement on the old roof!
My overall impression of SG Roofing is that Stephen and Chris are very hard-working, experienced roofers. They are friendly, polite and were a pleasure to have working on the house. They patiently answered any queries we had about the job in progress and more than happy to explain the various stages. They always left the house weathertight and the work site tidy and swept up.
We are very happy with the work they've done - the quality is outstanding and the difference the work has made to the appearance of the house is really something. We wish them all the best for the future and hope they continue to go from strength to strength. We would happily recommend them to friends or family for any roofing or roofline jobs. They are honest, hard working and a real credit to the trade. We would happily have them back to do any other roofline work in the future.

Stephen is an extremely helpful tradesman. I recently had an emergency leak which was coming through to my sons bedroom ceiling. Stephen came out at short notice and identified the leak was coming from a cracked chimney. He took photographs to show me the damage. As his workload was fully booked he did a temporary repair job to stem the water penetrating further and arranged to come back and do a full repair and repoint. He wouldn't take a penny from me which was very trusting of him. He came back another day and worked hard to complete the repair of the chimney which he did to a very good standard. Stephen has impressed me so much with his professionalism and high standards of work that I booked him to do a complete roof for me. Gems like Stephen are far and few so it's worth the wait knowing you will get the job done competently.

I was really glad of the Trader Register when I needed to find a reliable roofer to fix a broken roof tile following the high winds. I got in touch with Stephen(through this Trade Register) to get a quote for the re-pointing of the ridge tiles on the roof of my Dad's house.
Stephen was able to come round within a few days to look at the job and he then provided a very competitive quote. Dad was very impressed with Stephen so we asked him to complete the work.
Stephen was very up front on his busy workload and said it would be at least 6 weeks before he could start the work.
Dad was happy with this and when Stephen actually started worked, it was only a couple of weeks after what he originally estimated.
The work that Stephen has completed on Dad's roof was worth waiting for. Stephen was a very committed worker, putting in some long days and leaving everything very neat and tidy before he left each night. He has finished the re-pointing work to a very high standard. Even the neighbours have commented on the good work that's been done on the roof!

Very pleasant young men, exceptionally well mannered, who provided an out standing standard of work. They worked hard throughout and kept the mess to a minimum, sweeping up and clearing the waste into a skip which was included in the price. The price quoted was adhered to and was the best one we had received following a number of enquiries, not only that but of all the trades men we had to look at the roof we were most impressed by Mr Green. We got Stephen to remove our rotten timber fascias and soffits and replace them with PVC ones and fit a dry verge at the gable. The materials used are of a very high standard, as too was the fitting for a truly first class finish. Our neighbour is also very impressed and intends to use Stephenââ¬â¢s services to repair her roof.
Stephen and Chris also removed all the waste material from site and brushed up afterwards. They were both very polite and professional. Would definitely recommend.

Mr Green is an extremely professional tradesman. Friendly and polite. Arrived promptly as agreed and carried out the work with competence and care. Cured the problem first time which three other roofers were not able to. He offers a full guarantees that the repairs are 100% fixed before leaving. Full water test done on guttering.
